On the occasion of Edgar Morin’s death, we look back at the Plozévet study (1961–1967), one of the most extensive ever conducted in the social sciences in France. These were sincere and rigorous researchers, yet they viewed Brittany through the lens of ethnic prejudices from a bygone era and never managed to break free from a state framework that recognises no minorities.
